Hello I am quite a new member and really need your "eyes"
Simply; I saw two weeks ago my new L18 has a broken ray bone (the first one) tried to cure with possible ways and waited but there is no any difference... will it heal?

I have a pleco, he had it's tail bitten of by another pleco, and it grew back completely in about two or three weeks!

so yes, i think it will grow back eventually, just make sure the quality of the water is as good as it can be!

It will almost certainly heal, and almost certainly not heal straight. But assuming no other disasters, the fish will be fine (just a bit cosmetically challenged).

Actually, it is not important the "cosmetical" problem. But after 2 weeks with good water parameters nothing has changed. And the broken part of the spine (the point side) is still on the fish and not rip off or something. It is also strange, apart from the broken first spine, fish cosmetically perfect. So, will the two broken part of spine knit or something else?

If it apears to cause the fish any problem, you can surgically remove the broken off bit, using a pair of (clean) scissors. Fins are relatively easy for the fish to grow out again, so it should have no long term effect to do that.

They will PROBABLY knit eventually - but it's hard to say for sure.
