I have a BN pleco I got a couple of days ago,and When I got him I did'nt know if they fed him/her in the store so I droped a algae wafer in and had'nt seen him/her touch it untill the next day when he/she was on it for 2 seconds.Now I have been seeing it graze on the rocks,gravel,glass and wood.

cut some zuchinni and cucumber. about 2 inches of each, split it down the middle. Take out a bit of the seeds from the cucumber, just with a knife, just a shallow dig in the middle. get a stainless steele fork or spoon.

Put one end thru the cucumber, I usually put the fork end thru here down low as I can with piercing the bottom skin, the other end slide your zuchinni onto, close to the bottom as you can without going thru the bottom skin.

Slowly put that in your tank when the lights go out, or before, mine come out and eat it whenever. I put mine in at 4 pm and remove at 4 am. but that's just conveniant hrs for me.

She/he will come eat it. If she/he doesn't figure out it's food, then the next day do it again with fresh of the same.

My BN will eat zucchini but does not seem to eat cucumber the one time i tried ... maybe i should try again as you recommend.

zuchinni is better for them I have read , nutritionally, then cucumber but they love them both. Mine also eat sweet bell pepper strips, mushroom, mango, nectarines, romaine lettuce, put in the freezer for about 10 mins prior, green beans from a can, split down the middle, cooked shelled miched peas,and all varieties of sinking wafers and pellets and some Hikari frozen food.

ive done the food/egg white thing and let me tell you, it worked like a champ! ive been advocating it as much as i can for people who are having difficulties feeding their pl*cos

the food egg white rock receipe saved my rubbernoses as well.
