No, but a certain amount of fishkeeping experience helps.

Give it a go - it's not the easiest thing to do & i had some support writing my single article 
.
If you intend to do something like technical scientific descriptions it'd probably be a requirement that you were qualified to do so but if it was for something like a personal experience, you would be the factholder & therefore the expert
