What is your favorite pleco?

I personally like the bristlenose pleco because no matter what size tank you have or what you put in it, the bristle nose always stands its ground and is willing to do its job. Also the bristlenose is a pleco for everybody whether your an novice, advanced or an expert, and only stays about 3-6 inches depending on exact species.I also like the butterfly pleco as it grows like a bristlenose, has a unique pattern and is a chameleon.
Sure you can all go but your expensive plecos but they always get on your nerves having to make sure they fit thier tank and are eating right. Some people don't even know the zebra pleco is a carnivore or that a ringlet/clown pleco only really eats wood. Just leave a post/comment about your favorite pleco.

Gotta say, this guy/girl is my favorite pleco. I think it's either an L240 or 241, but very beautiful !

I have nothing spectacular like that, but in terms of entertainment value, utility as algae eaters, and visibility, I have come to really like my rubbernose plecos. Like the BNs they generally remain fairly small so they can fit into relatively small tanks. They do like the water a bit cooler, but mine have done well at 26-27 degrees, which is probably not optimal. Mine are probably
, but there are some other nice ones out there.

I love my chaetostoma - if only he had an ID..
but I also LOVE my "rare" (not really, but not super common), too. I think you should look up what your fish needs BN, common, or anything else, so to me - a less frequently available fish doesn't HAVE to mean lots more work. (OK, some do.. but not all). I do love a wide assortment of plec's though and would be hard pressed for a favorite.

Mine is definately The Thing that Lurks (and yearns for brains), my common pleco hitchhiker.
He came in on a bunch of Wisteria from Walmart, and was half rotted away the first time I spotted him. I started Melafixing the tank immediately, and he's made a near full recovery. Infact I dare say he's thriving, and doesn't resemble a zombie at all anymore.

My favourite is Godzilla, the
in our tank at work. It's the world's worst algae eater. It would rather pig out on vegetables and prawns.

wait, we can only pick one?
i like all the pl*cos i own. i have a gibby who is currently 10" long. he was the first and has a wonderful personality. my bf loves him more than all other fish and calls him gibby (wierdly, he named him after a person and before we knew what kind of pl*co he was)
i have a 3.5-4" L239 that is just a handsome guy and ive been through a ton of health issues with him. i always liked an underdog. his name is mr. vincent (after van gogh)
i have a 1.5" clown (L162) that is spunky and not terribly shy. hes also quite a pig and the most amazing tiny poop machine. hes my daughter's fish and shes named him alex.
and our newest addition is a teeeeeeeeeeeeeeny L168. i saw him, he was just a measly 1" long and i had to have him. he looks a lot like a zebra pl*co, but without the heart rending price tag. i havent named him yet, but hes super quick and pretty shy. but every evening hes on the glass on the front of the tank looking adorable.

I've got to go for Pterygoplichthys gibbiceps as well- a fantastic-looking, absolutely majestic, not shy, placid and benign fish- it's just a shame they get to about twice the size I'd like. Give me any Pterygo over the over-priced, garish, pathologically shy L-numbers any day. Mine's just as happy trying to catch floating pellets not meant for him (feeding a lot of sinking food results in all-out war between my cichlids as they try to monopolise the food, whereas feeding off the surface results in zero aggression in the tank- bizarre) as he is chewing cucumber and courgette- he's learned that when the room light is off and the tank light goes on that floating pellets are coming, and comes and queues in the corner of the tank where the pellets collect, and he's also learned that if the tank light goes off and the room light comes on, vegetables are coming, and he starts cruising the part of the tank where I place the cucumber/courgette.
I do also like Ancistrus cf. cirrhosus- it was so exciting when they finally bred, and they're even more desperate for veggies than the Pterygo- retrieving weights from the bottom of their tanks results in them grabbing hold of my fingers in a concerted attempt to be first to the food. My Panaque nigrolineatus juvenile is also quite fun, if a little spiky in temperament- he/she is quite happy to come out and feed when the lights are on, but won't tolerate being stared at, even from the other side of the room. The only plecos I've got that I'm less fond of are the Panaque maccus, which are too shy for me most of the time- they'll come out for bloodworm and high-protein foods they're not supposed to have much of (proving they will come out if the reward is sufficiently great) but that's about it.

So many... Of the ones I own now, I think the
are my favourites, but I also like the others.
I'm looking to get some Leporacanthicus in the future - I like them A LOT.
I love the Gold Nuggets, but I don't think I'll have a suitable setup for them anytime soon.

My favorite pleco is the longfin albino bristlenose. I have two young ones, I believe they may be a few months apart. The younger one is starting to develop stubble and the older one isn't so I am crossing my fingers that I got a male and a female.
They breed pretty easy from what I hear, they stay small, they don't get bullied as easily as some other plecos do, and the longfins just look beautiful.

My huge rhino pl*co who thinks he should be hand fed spinach every night
What a beauty!
I like my little
, they mostly keep to themselves but aren't shy and one is VERY territorial so I can watch him all the time, day or night. He rams anything out of his territory, hasn't ried my hand yet but It wouldn't surprise me. Like the occasional treat of grapes but it's usually mushrooms that will get him to come to the surface. As long as you move really s-l-o-w!
My L401 is pretty but pretty boring in comparison.
