Bought as Pseudacanthicus sp. L-25

Post by Haavard Stoere »

I bought this fish around half a year ago. It was bought as L25. Could it be L24?

:S Who are all the pseuda experts

Great looking fish regardless if L24 or L25, I am looking for a group of L24's myself and it is not something easy to come by now.

I'd say L24 due to the lack of spotting on the head, and the eyes, which in L25 have that hooded appearance. Looks a lot like my guy!

No they are not easy to find these days :(

I have to agree with CanadaPleco. It looks like an L24.

The interesting thing is that I bought it cheaply as a juvenile L25 from a small cellar shop. They also had a much larger L24 around 18cm that was rather dull in coloration. Maybe I should try to acquire this fish too as it may turn out to be a female. To have a probable female is a very good start as finding males is easier.
