Maybe coming to a LFS near you (UK) ?

Whilst i had the day off i did my old boss a very enjoyable favour & went to NHA (wholesaler) to compile a list of what looks good to buy. This place is an alladins cave & i could've spent all day there - i nearly did!

A few snippets from what i can remember, & this is just the cats....

Firstly, the latest batch of F1 baby Syno Granulosa - the smallest being 6mm!!!!! Quite amazingly they are already starting to resemble adults at even this size (white barbels, fin edges but there is a light patch either side on the flanks on the otherwise dark body). I asked if they could geta photo for us?

Other synos - acanthomias, pleurops, congica, notata, schoutedeni, soloni, nigriventris, contracta, camelopardalis, flavitaeniata, multipunctata, petricola, alberti, decora, euptera, H. membranaceous, M. batesi & a multitude of varieties of hybrids including previously unseen varieties such as "White tip".

There were too many loricariids to mention but the L358 were great as were some of the large (12") whiptails & a solitary small albino rineloricaria. Also Entomocorus Gameroi, tatia sp. 2, Imparfinus sp. 1, Hassar, some unbelievably cute 2" pteradoras granulosus, schilbe marmoratus, Cory Blochii, XXL Cory Haraldschultzi, Phyllonemus typus, 2 species of Lophiobagrus, Cetopsis "blue", gagata sp.

The sump tanks had stuff in at sizes that would do well at shows....

Your LFS may have an account & if they do, they can order for you....

I missed out on a couple of things i was really after that were sold out, stock varies considerably every 2 weeks!

The pics are too 'big' at the moment but i did come back with 10, mostly fully grown & 10 2" TL - both of which were too good to pass on :D

[Mod edit: Alter species name to the correct name rather than sp(1) --Mats]

Richard - my LFS has had half a dozen of these this week, along with the jags I was waiting for - nice looking fish - how are you finding them? Are they active feeders? What have you mixed yours with?
Thanks
Martin

When they went into the tank, they went under the sand in moments. They leap out of the sand as soon as food goes in. i found 1 dead on the floor after week which must've squeezed out of a tiny gap in the cover glasses but the others are fine.

feeding is not a problems as they have eaten tetra pro crisps, tetra prima, other dry prepared foods as well as frozen brine shrimp etc. Cute 'lil fishes without a doubt. They're in with my 2 Euchlichthys, the last of my pearl danios & a small citharinus citharus without problem.

Out of interest do you recall how much they were?

OK thanks.
When i went to my LFS they were still waiting for the fax to come through with prices, but should be able to find out if you need to know.

You can't beat a trip to NHA, fabulous place. If you get the chance to go, never refuse. It's been 12 years since I was in the trade and was able to go. I always enjoyed pouring over the stocklist as well.

I've just picked up 4 Imparfinis 'sp. 1' (the last ones in stock) from a newly opened shop, Ferrybridge Aquatics, in W. Yorkshire, just off the M62/A1 junction. They also had Entomocorus benjamini (as per the baensch description) and plenty of other uncommon species.

Worth a visit if you're in the area.

Mark.
