wow , he really blends in! I had a hard time finding even a fish in those pics. I finally saw his head in the last one, but not a good enough shot for a newbie like me to even guess.

The photo is pretty difficult to decipher, but I would have a rather uncertain guess that it is an Ancistrus species. Quite possibly a - but I'm not even certain that I have the genus right, never mind the species. A better photo (with more contrast) would help, but I know how hard it can be to take photos of fish like this one.

Most likely a parotocinclus species.

it's not an Ancistrus

the headshape is all wrong, too pointy, not flat enough

and at this size all Ancistrus cf cirrhosus have the telltale spots and the white edges on caudal and sometimes even dorsal fin.

this one's an uniform antracite. but it's not nearly spiny enough to be a baby Acanthicus and the headshape doesn't match

raise it and then re-determine? looks quite unusual to me

are there jetblack parotocinclus known?

was it a by-catch in a shipment?

Looks at first glance to be .

Photos against a different background will help though.

it's hard to tell, but IMO it could be a very young P. pardalis
