ID this mottled, spotted 8 inch pleco

Another member on my home forum is looking for an ID on this mottled, spotted 8 inch pleco.
The bamboo stick was used to try to open the dorsal and tail fins for easier ID by the experts here :wink:

this is a Hypostomus species, not sure which one though, they all look very similar!

Getting the ball rolling here...maybe a stressed out ? Probably something less exotic though....

I think the weberi has a larger dorsal and the tail has a different shape with extensions :wink:

Any other suggestions :?:

This is a , but not sure exactly which one. Could be .

Have a browse though the list and try to narrow it down.

Looks pretty close to good old , but it could be several species.The caudal fin shape is interesting.
