Assuming the pictures in the Cat-eLog are correct[1], your fish is
C. atropersonatus.
C. kanei has a denser pattern of smaller dots.

[1] I am pretty sure the images in the Cat-eLog are correct, as there are pictures of both by Ian Fuller, who is certainly an authority on the subject.

I was wondering because my fish have patterned tails and the atropersonatus on the cat e log don't. I personally think they are more like the atropersonatus on the body, but am not100%
Either way I love them!

I know very little about cory's but i was under the impression that atropersonatus does indeed have an unpatterned tail?
if Ian is about he'll know for sure.

Good spotting. So perhaps it's a case of "neither of the above". I think we need someone with more experience of Cory's than me.

Giving the pictures some close scrutiny I think you have some of the undescribed species C48. This is a species coming from Rio Guamá, Pará, Brazil.
