I have a pleco that I need help with ID. I went on the site to post the picture and I got the following msg. as well as others to the effect my picture needs to be on the internet on a webpage which I don't have. If the picture was already on the internet I would probably be able to identify it. I'm fairly computer literate but this doesn't make sense to me.

The image you display must already be viewable on the Internet (it cannot exist only on your computer unless you run a webserver and you wouldn't be reading this if you did!).
To display an image, you must surround the URL (internet address) pointing to the image with tags. For example:

You need to upload your picture before you can post it here.

Just go to the bottom of the post page and you can upload from your computer right to your post

go to upload attachment and hit browse and then you can grab your picture from your computer...I always downsize mine just as you would if you were e-mailing before doing so...maybe yours need to be downsized?

then hit add the file....then place inline

when you preview you should see the picture in place

This is a fairly new feature and you do not need to upload somewhere else anymore

I just tried it and it is working fine

No longer true, you can also upload image file attachments to your post these days too. Birger has provided instructions above.
