Taking care of a sick L066

Hello everybody.

I have a L066 female that has been in a quite cold tank for a while, at 19-21°C

She started to get thinner and now her belly is really 'empty'. She did not eat and i think because of her 'sharpened shape' she cut herself on the top on the head with something hard as a wood.

I moved her in a 25°C tank with some youg manaquiri Apistos and started first of all to cure the white 'cotton' caused by the cut, i don't know the correct english word, anyway i had to use a product not too heavy cause i know plecs don't like medical products.
After 2 days of this product the white 'cotton' woas almost gone but i finished the product and she remained a whole day witout medication and the white spot reappeared.
I bought it again and i am keeping on.
Do you think it can be dangerous used for long times?
In the same tank i have others plecs (really young Lda16, L144 and L129) but it seems they are not disturbed.

With warm water she started moving more and it seems she tries to eat but her belly remains really bad. I have product against endoparasites but i fear that 2 products in the same time could be too heavy and could have no effects.
Do you think it's better finishing with the white spot and then after a period of calm, use the oter one?
Can i do something else? T at 25°C should be ok, higher maybe it's too much.

I wait for advices and i'll try to make a pic as i'll find my camera batteries!

Sorry I can't help you with your question but out of curiosity are you sure that is a L066? If you can tell its a female it should be quite big and looking at your pix it does not look anything like my L066. Than again the pix is quite small to view and I might be just wrong.

Good luck with your pleco.

Cheers

hi! If you mean the pic in my signature that one is a 5 cm long L174...

i can see my L066 is a female cause it's a little more than 10 cm and has no hairy fins at all and the body shape in a little feminine.
She could also be a L333 even if i bought her as L066, I'll post a pic even if it's a little old...

For being sick , she looks pretty good. I mean you see she's sick but it's not that bad like in most cases.

Hi,

I have no magic solution to propose. Just try to increase seriously the volume of disolved oxgen in your tank, that will help her to fight the deasise.

Do you know if she is injured under the white coton? if so, you can desinfect with bétadine (povidone-iodine) and apply some vaseline to cover the injury and avoid a new infection.

See you,
Matien

well medicines don't work at all. Under the cotton looks like che's 'burnt' but now it seems something yellow is growing  i can't understand

Some friends gave me the idea of taking it off with a cotton-fioc and apply the medicine directly on the sick area: betadine or sera baktowert... which is better?

Well, something incredible happened tonight.

I don't know why and how, but some minuties ago my L066 went out from her new cave and was like this

looks like there is only a small scarf like burnt skin and nothing else.
Maybe the 'yellow botton' was a piece of skin that grew isolating the 'cotton' and went away as she moved into the new cave i gave her?
