This ABN is about 3 inches long. Is it a male or a female?

100% male

uh 3 inches are more or less 8 cm right?

My young 8 cm males have a complete bristled nose, but it happened that females had a bristler line just on the board of the mouth...

Did I say something stupid?

I go with leucosticta , if a BN is 7.5cm or bigger they got more bristles in most of the cases. But if it's a late-developer it could be a male.

or at least if he is a he should have some bristels also along the line that goes from the 'nose' to the space between the eyes.

Take a look ah the fins also: the two lateral should be a little hairy too...

I've been thinking this one was a female. Out of 4 siblings, I got three definite males and then this one... which has always been a bit smaller. It only has the bristles around its nose... none up the center.

Now my question is... if she's a female... what's the best way to plump her up?

In my experiance females tend to get bristles on the sides of thier faces. I think this may be a male.

Good feeding, extra protein will help (such as Hikari Algae wafers).
