My Syno's

7 months ago i started a Tanganyika tank.
I bought 5 Synodontis polli white Zambia at my Lfs.
They are about 8 centimeter now and when i bought them they were around 5.

Here are some pictures, i hope you like them ;)

they are precious! But can you repost the tank pic? I just see 2 pics of the cats and one duplicate. I love seeing peoples tanks!

beautiful! :thumbsup: I love the grass growing over the top! Is that vallis? What is the orange fish by the sand? Cichlid?

I can't see them on the thread but i've seen the album on photobucket - nice!

What is the ratio of sexes of the zambian white polli? Any spawning acivity at all?

Yes, it's Valisneria spiralis
The orange fish is a Neolamprologus leleupi.

I think i have 1 male and 4 females but i'm not sure.
They did spawn ones, but they eat the eggs themselves

You could collect eggs & put them in a breeding tap/net in the tank! :)

Rubbermaid tub? Sponge filter and heater is all you need....Frequent water changes and you are making some $$$$

Fantastic pics bennyvis.

If I were to set up a Tanganyikan tank, I would have pretty much the same stock as you. Good choice of cichlids!

They are great photos, pity about the shadow in the first one (of the last two) - S. sp(2) are a fantastic fish.

I have a trio 1m/2f at the moment in a spawning tank but no joy so far. male 9cm TL females 7cm Tl - pics in cat-e-log show the females somewhat larger than the males in the "pair" photos. if you've had eggs i presume they'll breed at this size - anyone aware of how big these actually get?
