Leopard pattern synodontis catfish - what is it?

I have 2 catfishes like that, they are now about 4.5", probably fully grown.

Can you please help me to identify them? I am attaching 2 links to the pictures of one of them.

Hi Guys,

Thank you very much for helping me to identify this fish. You are probably right. I have looked at the pictures of the fish that you have mentioned and my fish look somehow similar, but not exactly alike. Mosts of the fish on those pictures seem to have more of the light background and in my fish the backbround takes less place than the patterns. Also mine seem to look less yellow, but more brown. I have just lighten one of the pictures so you can see better. Here it is again at:

If you're after a third opinion then schoutedeni it is! They are one of the most variable synos going in terms of pattern and shade/depth of colour - this one might not look like photos in cat-e-log but not everyone does! The site would be ridiculously big if every variable of every species was covered & it is pretty big now!!!

And more the merrier: S. schoutedeni it is. Beautiful ones, I think, very dark version. Eats very easily herself to fat ball. So proper or shall I say, controlled nurturing, is important.

Do you know how big they could grow? I think they are probably fully grown, about 4-4.5".

To be more specific it states 5" SL which is to the base of the caudal fin

The other measurement is TL...abbreviation for total length which is from tip of nose to the tip of the tail
SL is an abbreviation for standard length

It looks like they are probably fully grown or almost fully grown.
I am going to post them for sale. It looks like I have too many catfishes at the moment. I just got 2 new multipunctatus and I still have my 2 huge Synodontis Decorus catfishes (already posted for sale). I also have other 2 multipuncatus, 2 dwarf petricolas and a few other catfishes.

It is interesting that my 2 new multipunctatus are less timid that the other two, which are in my tank for already at least 2 months. I guess it depends on character. The other 2 are older, much bigger, hiding all the time and only go out at night. I was hoping they will school together, but so far they are not doing it. Have you noticed such differences in character and behaviour among this fish?
