That video was posted about a year ago. There have been a few threads about it here in the past. it's supossed to be a Leporacanthicus sp. out of Venezuela.

I don't believe that one was every exported. It was captured & filmed by a place in Venuzeula, if I remember correctly. Venezuela does not allow for the export of captured fish.

I did some digging and found all of the other older threads about this fish. I have also spoken with a large importer and they said they have had this fish in the past and that it is nothing more then a L240 with a different pattern. Not too sure what to believe here, but regardless it is one stunning fish! I would trade my 15 or so L46 for a group of 6 of these.

The fish is a beautiful young individual of a species that apparently fades somewhat with age. I'm not 100% sure if it's the same species imported to Germany (Glaser) and Japan (Aquafin) last year, but I think it is. They seem to vary quite a lot in colour intensity and pattern, and the price is extremely high. Read more here: http://www.aquarium-glaser.de/en/fish_d ... 93&lang=en

There are some pics on Aquafin's site http://aquafin.web.infoseek.co.jp/pleco ... o-top.html if you look around, tried to link them here but it didn't work for some reason.

I was mistaken about it not being previously exported. I think it was mid to late last year I did see it on the Japanese site. Forgot all about it until HaakonH mentioned it. Sorry for the confusion.
