I gotta take some pictures!!!

Post by darkwolf29a »

I, finally, found one of these the other day. :) Needless to say, I had to have it. Right now, I have him in a 10 gallon tank, with some stuff for him to hide in. I'm not a fan of sand, so I'm trying to give him maximum hiding spaces, while not succumbing to the sand mess again.

Anyone have any experience with these? Any suggestions would be helpful.

I'm trying to figure out if I have a male or a female, so any sexing information would be good too. :D

You may find that it won't eat anything but live fish.

If you are not using sand, you can use leaf litter (beech or oak) to make the fish really secure.

I haven't got a clue about sexing but i have got mine to eat small live earthworms in the past, to negate using live fish.

I'll have to find some oak leaves. Those I know I can get. I've never seen a beech leaf, honestly.

Thanks for the info. :)

Any suggestions on cleaning the leaves?

You take dead oak leaves from the tree so they're dried already & then boil them for a few minutes, so that they're ok to go in the tank.
