There are two kinds of common plecos: Hypostomus and Liposarcus. Here's a
CoTM article on Hypostomus. Care for Liposarcus is pretty much the same.

Make sure that the pl*co has a good supply of vegetable matter.

For vegetable matter, algae wafers/pellets sold at pet stores are pretty good.

They enjoy zucchini too. My common will devour half of a zucchini in a night! Boil it for about a minute, cut in two, rubberband it to a rock or sink it somehow and it will eat it. If yours is little, it may take him a little while to figure it out. Mine is huge and has been raised on zucchini treats every now and then.

Hi,
They like also letuce.Dont weiht it down. You will have great fun watching your pleco swimming upside down in order to suck on the letuce
You can also train him to eat on your hand if you want it.
