Re: Panaque cochliodon Blue eye Panaque
Very few have been available in recent years (AFAIK) & they are now proving expensive (one particular individual has been discussed on these forums with vastly inflated/exaggerated price)

Re: Panaque cochliodon Blue eye Panaque
FWIW, we had wild-caught fish of a species endemic to Rio Cauca show up about a month ago, so apparently there is some collecting taking place there.
However, isn't Blue Eye Plec extinct in the wild? Also, that looks like an old fish to me, it might be one of the survivors sprinkled around in aquaria around the world since before their distribution range was destroyed. It's not inconceivable - plecos are long-lived.
Considering its size and apparent age, and that it's alone, I do not think it's captive-bred.

Bas Pels - i presume Racoll mean't : is it wild caught as opposed to someone trading it in?

Hi Just a quicky , I know 4 people who collect fishes there ..
I am told it is more Cocaine that is the problem ..
Not habitat destruction ...
The fishermen are afraid of fishing there as the area is run by
Mafia type people ..
It is wild , Recently collected ...
Cheers
