L163 is........

My L163 is totally mad on eating my wood! Do they do this normally? I've never seem my wood look so clean and sanded look to them. Thanks for any replys

many pleco's will eat wood to help with their diet. My royal is constantly chewing away at my mopani wood. Usually at night I can hear him rasping on it. When I first put him into the tank, I had finally managed to get a nice layer of lush green algae onto it. it was gong the next day, by the following day my piece of wood had a shiny appearance to it since he had cleaned it off so well.
