Hi all,

Are Cory caudimaculatus easy to breed?

Not especially. More challenging than many of those that have been bred.

I was just asking because mine spawned a month or so ago, i found about six eggs, i put the eggs in a little tank, now i have 4 young about 1-2cm in length.

Hoplo! Where are the photos? You can't say something like you have 1cm babies and not post up pics. Please. :D

I got my hubby to catch all the babys and there are 8 of them, must have been more eggs on the java moss.
I got my hubby to put a pair of Cory caudimaculatus in with babys to show size difference.

You are very welcome

At first they did not look like the adults, i thought they were peppered as we put some peppered eggs in the same tank, then the odd one started to get that black spot at the back end of the body

I didn't take much notice of them before that as i didn't think the eggs would have hatched, i wish i had now

Just perfect little replicas!! Does the mom stay by them and protect them or act motherly at all?

Not sure if the female is their mother as i dont know which female spawned as we have 5 females and 3 males plus the baby's and adults have different tanks, my hubby just put them together for the picture.

My Corydoras caudimaculatus group spawn on a regular basis, but since they're in a community tank with lots of plants I've never taken on the task to pick out the eggs.
But they sure are a pretty specie! :D

Here's a pair of them in the classic Corydoras T-position :)
