red tail catfish

does anyone know how long a red tail catfish can live in a 55 gallon tank? and does anyone know if the hormone thing is true i.e. when the hormone level reaches a certain point they will slow down in growth?

my RTC grew to 18" in 8 months from 2",, so your 55gal will not be good enough after 4-5 months,

does anyone have any recomendations as to what size tank to get? i have been told that a 125gallon was ok but i have also been told that you need atleast a 250gallon,

I think the very minimum you need is 180 gallons. The fish probably wouldn't be very comfortable in it, though.
