Life of Rubber-lipped pleco-questions???

Hi y'all, Just got another rubber-lipped pleco. Can anyone tell me how hsrdy they are? Also, how long do they normally live for? THANX-Bigdan

as long as they are kept and maintained in good condition, they will indeed last long.. plecs life span are quite long

Assuming you mean Chaetostoma, they are a fastwater fish and therefore need plenty of aeration.

I find that they don't need plenty of aeration as uch as cooler temperatures. Mine is living in a tank that cannot be said to be very highly aerated, but the water's cool enough, so it's happy.
