Hi Everyone! AquaFest 2007 got me interested in pigmy catfish. What pigmys do you keep? What size tank? What tankmates?
Thanks!

I presently keep and breed C. habrosus and C. hastatus. I like to keep the breeders along with my Sturisoma fry and I practice "natural breeding" of my dwarf Corys. They are continuous spawners and a certain percentage of the fry survive and join the adults.
I have bred C. pygmeus but I just never found them as interesting as these other two species. Just a matter of personal taste. I especially like C. hastatus because when schooling they resemble a group of Tetras.
I actually find this method about as productive as special breeding set ups so that is why I quit trying to raise them alone. I am not trying to raise my dwarf Corys commercially so I am happy to make only incremental gains in my populations.
One set up that might be fun which I intend to try is another natural set up where I will keep the dwarf Corys with Celestial Danios(MicroRasboras).
