Currently I have a colony of Sterbai in with some pleco fry I am growing out. I have just noticed my sterbai have spawned. Will the plecos eat the eggs and should I touch them or just let them be raised natrally in the tank? leanne

Plecos are said to eat eggs, but I'm certain corys do. Therefore I would certainly consider doing so.

A few 'read this first'articles are available on this forum, you will certainly find an answer there

My Corydoras sterbai do eat their eggs, usually within 48 hours. The plecos will too depending on their size. Newly released pleco fry would probably not eat the Corydoras eggs but slightly older ones will.

Hey guys, yes plecos do eat the eggs, well at least my L137's do. I have 4 L137's all @9-10cm mark and they love it when my Sterbai's lay eggs. Within 2 hours the tank is devoid of eggs

below are some of my piccies where i was lucky enough to get a photo of the eggs as they were freshly laid

:fish2: Enjoy
