My new 7x2x2 Amazon Background!! (Dialup Warning)

Post by scat35 »

Hey Guys :D

A few weeks ago a mate of mine from the Perth Cichlid Society agreed to have a crack at making a Amazonia background for my 7x2x2.

This tank was a malawi tank but have been leaning toward catfish alot more lately :)

So this is the result.

First cutting the background to size. ( Neil who made this background has a different thread on the building of it )

Then fitting it in the tank.

And with lots of work in between here is the finished job ( will add the fish next weekend )
All credit to my wife for the aquascaping :)

Personally I would prefer a bit more decoration in the tank, so the fishes can shelter behind / under the wood.

But I agree, it is also a shame not to have full view on the background  - it is worth looking at for a long time

Thanks Bas Pels :D

Ive left room for slate caves to be put in soon and have some other premade breeding caves to go in there also ( you will see one of those in the middle pic)

The pics are deceiving and the rear part where the plants are (from the pebble/rock divider ) theres still 10 inches of space from the rock divider to the background.

Cheers :D
