Stocking A 65g

I bought a 36x18x24h" tank yesterday, which is 250 litres, 65 US gallons. Im more interested in pims and auchenipteridae species than plecs and corys so I would like to mainly stock with them, but have two spiny eels which wont grow past 8" which I also want to go in. I got two powerheads, two heaters and a fluval 4 internal filter with the tank so I can use them, but I would also like to get an eheim external aswell. I have media which is mature so that can go in as soon as its all done. Do you think this size tank would be ok for pim pictus' or do you think a little bigger of a tank would be better?
Any help much appreciated.

The pictus should be ok in this tank - they don't do so well in smaller tanks as they really need a bit of current & to be kept in a group of say 5 - 2 is a real problem as 1 will always be dominant over the other. A group may limit what other fish you can include as your quota of bottom dwellers would be high

Ok cheers, sorry for my late reply. The tank was filled yesterday, today its at correct temperature so tomorrow I will try and get my first fish in, hopefully some shops close will have them in otherwise, I know a place that should but its abit far away. I was going to just have a group of 3, I could strech to 4 but I also want my eels in there, and I quite fancy a marbled bichir (P.palmas) if I can get hold of one. Also, do you think dithers that get to 3" would be ok with adults or would it be abit risky?
