Are their any catfish besides plecos or cories out their that are about 5-6" and can be bred in a 55g for a beginner at catfish?
Thank you,
Steve

That size-range is certainly available. What is breedable by beginneris is a little more difficult. Most catfish are not commonly bred in captivity, but given the right care and conditions, I don't think ANY fish is unbreedable.

How about these:

Fairly easy I believe and nice fish too.

Good suggestion, Hoplo's,
should be relatively easy to breed, easy to care for (the live in the most horrid environment in nature, so as long as they get food once in a while [not difficult either], they should be fine).

Edit: Fix CLOG tag.

another suggestion is a "pleco", sort of, but breeding
is also possible and these fish are great lookers, day-active and always in demand.
you're not going to end up with unsellable fish. Hoplo's might turn out unwanted (i remember getting stuck with over a hundred Hoplosternum punctatum), but Sturi's are highly popular.
