We have a yellow bullhead, 7", and we feed him Tetramin tropical tablets. How much should we feed him? Is there a danger of overfeeding? Underfeeding? How do we know when he is getting the right amount?
What would be a better diet for him? Thanks - peter

I'd say feed only enough that the belly starts to bulge a little. Yellow bullheads are pigs when it comes to eating, and there is every danger of overfeeding them. The good news is that they'll eat just about anything. Tetramin tablets are good, but if you want some variety, feed it frozen foods (like bloodworms), or live foods like chopped-up earthworms and brine shrimp.

the last yellow bull head that i had lived to be roughly 12 years old, i fed him everything from worms crickets and gold fish, i always fed him untill he had a fairly large bulge for a belly and he always did fine.
