Fungus

Post by mambee »

I have a very reclusive Queen Arabesque pleco that I have had for about 3 years. I can go months without seeing him.

I turned on the lights in my bedroom last night and finally got a good look at him. What I saw I didn't like. He was swelled up with a band of fungus growing from his body.

As I don't have a separate quarantine tank and he is going to be hard to catch, can I treat him in my community tank? What is the best treatment.

Pimafix from API is very good and I have never seen a bad reaction from my plecs when using it.
As for being reclusive, I recently added a couple more L260s and now they are out every time I feed.

At the top of the forum there is a post that asks for information from you if you need help with a sick fish. If you could provide that information it will go a long way towards getting you help that will be beneficial in the long run. When you say fungus, can you describe it please? Where it is on the fish and what not?

Better yet, get a pic?
