diet differences, albino shorts vs. brown longfins

I have 2 tanks, one with mostly albino regular fin bristlenose and a couple piebald browns, and the other tank is strictly long fin brown adults (7 fish in a 40 gallon breeder). I put a large piece of Zuchini in each tank. After a day the piece in the albino tank had been devoured, whereas the piece in the longfin brown tank had not been touched. Got me to wondering if there were diet differences between the two, and if there was some of the kind of food that the longfins preferred. I also notice that the longfins don't like to eat the Algae tabs. They do seem to eat a veggie catfish pellet. Anyone with similar experiences?

Seeing as they are the same species in both cases, I don't see why they should be different in diet.

That of course doesn't mean that they don't behave differently, just like one human kid will hate spinach, and another will devour it like there's nothing better (except ice-cream ;-) ).

Are these fish long-term captives or did you just get them?
Did they all come from the same place or different sources?
I think it's just a matter of dietery preference or possibly just not being used to a food source.

I think lornek is making a good point.

My experience with LF albino BN has been that they are slightly more delicate than normal finned BN and mine have never grown as fast as the short fin but this is just what I have experienced and might not be typical.

I have had the veils for 10 months, and the others at least 12 months.
They are from different sources. The veilfins are all from one a particular local importer/breeder. The 3 adult albinos are from 3 separate sources so that I could get some fresh genes.
All the short fins, piebalds included, are eating machines.
