I traded drgold for a breeding group of Batasio havmolleri a month ago and have now found fry that survived from a breeding about 2.5 weeks ago.
Very pretty fry with a pattern that must be lost as they grow.
I put a breeding report on my web site at

Nice job Steve! The stripes disappear as they grow, and they'll look like the adults after about 1". That took a while for me, though.
Nice to see that they've settled in well!

I see that these guys have been unable to stop.
This group of Batasio comes with real Planet Catfish pedigree.
Achim --> me --> drgold --> fishfarmer
They've been breeding for everyone except me (which tells you my skills as an aquarist).

According to the details on these fish here on PC, their temperature range is from the 60's up to 72F, so they should like a cold water change and we seem to be lucky that they are ok with the mid yo upper 70's.

I had them at 80 for a while, no problem. When they spawned the first time (successfully) I did a cold water change to drop the temp from 75-65. They got active right away and the eggs came right after lights out.
I wonder if a spawning mop could be used? I used java moss, but it was a bit of a pain.
