Difference between L260 and L318?

I just bought a pair of 318's online and could swear they look just like my 260's. The only difference is that the striping is maybe finer. The male has a marbled belly, like the 260's and the patterns look close. They're nice fish, don't get me wrong.....
Is there a difference between these? The only thing I can think of is that 260 has white stripes on black and the 318 has black stripes on white, maybe...?
I'll post pics soon. I have them drip acclimating now (3 days in transit...yikes!)

I believe you have something [and I may be wrong in the location spelling]known as Hypancistrus sp. "Queen Arabesque" Monte Durado.
There are other folks who can tell you more about them, but that picture pretty much tells the story.
L318?
I don't think so.
Good luck,

Hi!
No L318 which is another species...
These are "Monte Dourado"
Cheers

I think you have 2 different species, the dark one is "Monte Dourado" but the lighter one can be a L260 H. sp "Queen Arabesque". Can you take a sideview picture of the lighter one just to be sure?

I can try! now that she's settled in (the light one is the 'female') she looks a lot more like the male. She darkened up a bit and has the same blotchy light and dark areas as in other pics I've seen of monte dourados. I'll snap some pics tonight when I get home. thanks for the help!

This was the best shot I could get. not sideview, but not totally above, either.
She seems to look more like the male now, but different enough.

She is a L260 so you have bought 2 different species.
