Has anyone ever heard of these?
They are on my LFS availability list from the wholesaler....
They are relitively inexpensive.
That's bout all I know.
If you have any info, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks

Hi!
I bought 2 once in a spontanous mistake buy...they are some sort of huge growing species...Liposarcus i think. Brought them back the next day. It has become very common here since last year.
Coloration is very strange indeed with the red eyes and the caramel brown body. It should be in the catelog if im not wrong.

They are a color strain of L. pardalis (partially amelanistic?), which is why they're so cheap.

ah ha.....thank you. That saves me from buying one. I already have enough larger plec's. Will pass on the info at my fish store.
Thx.

Chocolate plecos and albino plecos are 2 different fish. Chocolate plecos are a little darker and they don't have red eyes like the albino plecos.

i disagree cuz i think that the albino hypostomus, is different with the cheaper one which is the albino chocolate, but both has red-eyes ;)

Ok, I guess what I'm looking to hear is, what size would the chocolate albino plec reach? Is it a big guy like the commons, or does it stay under 8" like the chocolates, or rhino plecs?
Thx

It'll grow really big (about 15" or so), like other Liposarcus.

Thanks Silurus. That is exactly what I don't want. I already have 4 Liposarcus and don't need any more of the large guys.
