Hello! I currently have 3 small syno cats (maybe 2-3 inches long each), 1 rainbow shark (maybe 3 inches), 7 small neon tetra, and 2 red wagtail platys in my 40tall tank. I was thinking about adding 1 cichlid to the tank, but i'm not sure how their compatability will be with the fish i currently have. Further i read cichlid like to be in schools, so i'm not sure if it would be wise just to get one. Plus, i'm not sure if my tank is big enough, however, I do plan on upgrading my tank once the fish get of a larger size.
If there is a cichlid that is okay to go in my tank, what kind should i get? IF not, what other fish do you suggest will be okay to put in my tank? I am looking for a fish with eye catching characteristics. Just looking for 1 or 2 more fish to add. thanks!

I would think the synos would be ok with a small c*****d, but the neons and platys will be lunch at some point.
