Re-cycling query

Post by dreamcat »

I am about to set up a new tank, and i'm wondering if i can speed up the cycling process by putting the new filter sponge in the old tank for a few days to build up some bacteria, and also wondering if using some 2nd-hand water from the old tank to add to the new one would help the process along too.
Any thoughts?

Thanks, nim
