I'm waiting...

I have now input all data submissions sent up to this point. 8) With the exception of a few from Yann, they were all from HH. :?

COME ON GUYS! :D If you can only manage one a week it would move us significantly forward... Picking a few from the top 100 list would also help as the more good data in there, the fewer daft questions in the forum. Although I am moving house on the 5th of June, I will only be out of the game for a few days - and I'll be right back up to speed just as soon as I get online.

Sorry Jools, I'll try to stick to at least one per week, it is a reasonable request. Headed down to the Rio Magdalena at Giradot this weekend. I'll get some good photos and ask around about blue eyed Panaques. On an interesting note, Colombians do not use corroncho or panaque. All loricariids, and all banjo cats, are cucha with the exception of Rineloricaria, Loricariichthys, and Sturisoma types which are policia (police catfish).

Cool knowledge - but I can't see the reason why on earth they are called police cats?

PS Thanks for a positive reply to my moaning! :-)

I have no clue why they are called Police Cats and I have asked a lot of people. Not such good collecting due to high water. Lots of Pims and a VERY interesting Pseudopimelodus. I can not find a photo of anything like it. Thanks for the paper (Peces de Magdalena) HH, it was a big help.
Not only high water, but lots of nasty mud! I sank at one point to my thigh and when I pulled my foot out it came up with the sandal straps but no sole! I threw the other one off when I realized I was better barefoot. About an hour later a seven year old kid came up with my one good sandal I had chucked and offered to sell it to me for 2,000 pesos (60 cents). He pointed out that it was my size, but did not have an answer as to what I would do with only one shoe (maybe it made sense to him as he had no shoes). Of course after losing my sandals I proceeded to step on a rock and slice my foot really good. What a fun day!
