One of my friends has bought this catfish and never really knew what species it is... so maybe you can help out :wink:

My first guess would be a sp.

is another possibility.

However the best way to be certain is to get a good shot of the teeth.

It sure is a good looking pleco. As racoll says, a look at it's teeth/mouth will be the quickest way to identify it.
Of course if you are not a big rush, if it stays small I would venture it is a very pretty Hypancistrus.
