:D Hi, Im getting 3 small Albino Bristlenose Plecos soon, I have a 20 gal long tank with 20 small Saulosi African cichlids in it. Im thinking of isolating the plecos in a breeder basket for a week up to a month.. Do you think this a better idea rather then putting them in the tank when I get them ? Im doing this because they will be stressed because of 2 day shipping and I want to get them eating and destressed ASAp.. What do you guys think ? PS Im getting them from Sonic on Aqua Bid so I know Im getting quality fish... thanks

Well, the best option is probably to have a well-established quarantine tank, as that doesn't cause any risk of contaminating your other fish like the net-method does.

In my experince the common birstlenos (which is the same species as the albino ones) is pretty much indestructable as long as they are over an inch long. Of course, other fish eating at them isn't included in the "indestructable" scenario.

Thanks for the reply Mats, I wish I had another tank to raise them up a little :D Ill keep them in the breeder traps for a while until their 1 1/2 inches or so. On the cichlid forums other hobbiests who have africans have ABN Plecos also but at a small size its not a good idea to add them with such aggressive fish.. :o
