Synodontis Eupterus Behavior?
I have a Sydontis Eupterus (about 5 inches long). I've had him for about 3-4 weeks. In the beginning he would constantly swim around. Not in a stressed out hectic manner, but like he was checking everything out. In the last day or two he has set himself underneath a plant in the corner and just stays there, not really moving except for his tail fin. This is my first experience with this type of fish. Is this normal behavior or is this something I should worry about. Thank you very much for your time and information from a new catfish lover.

Synodontis eupterus can be quiet shy and prefer subdued lighting, if you wish to see the fish at its best some overhanging bogwood or similar would be nice, in my 6 foot tank i have an adult eupterus thats settled into one of the bogwood "caves" however i have a massive piece of bogwood that spans accross from top to bottom and he and my second eupterus often come out in the daytime and swim inverted along the bottom of the overhanging wood. From experiance and from advice of others...the more hiding places you have the more you will see of the fish, especially if you can arrange it so the fish can "hide in plain sight"
