syno larval sizes

Post by Zoopse4Lyf3 »

Hi all,

I've noticed (as I am sure the rest of you have) the great disparity in size between larval S. multipunctatus and S. lucipinnis (dwarf petricola). From my estimate I'd say that a week old multi is about 1cm in length and lucipinnis is about half that. I've also noticed that multi eggs are about twice the size of lucipinnis eggs.

My question is for those of you who have breed other syno species: are there any other Synodontis that have a similar size to multi in the early larval stages? or with a similar egg size? I've heard that S. petricola larvae are pretty well matched for size to multi.
