Considering that alot of the information here is from people that are very knowledgable in reguards to descriptions of certain parts of fish anatomy, I find myself scratching my head sometimes wondering what they are talking about. For example if someone new to this forum was told do describe a fishs barbles and didnt know that they were the "wiskers" that would be confusing. Also i just learned what a humeral process is just today. If there were a page with diagrams of different Catfish with detailed descriptions of fish anatomy to refer to, we might avoid descriptions like "that thingy, wiskers, them sharp pointy things, tail," ect. It would also help speed up the learning curve for people like me that want to learn the specific terms but dont quite know them all quite yet. I can imagine that i could be pretty frustrating for someone coming here for information that dosent know any of these terms. Just might help people feel a little more comfortable among the experts. Thanks hope that is a doable recomendation.

Thats an excellent idea. maybe the more knowledgeable among us could do a short course for the rest of us. Just trying to describe a species when you aren't familiar with the terms is a nightmare!

There's already one on this site
here.
If you're more interested, you can also look
here, although this is much more technical.

Interesting Ive never been able to find that before, kind of hidden. However I had something more indepth in mind like silurus recomended although even that is hard to tell what you are looking at sometimes. A happy median between the two would be a good tool for beginners. Or even intermediates in the hobby as that goes. I had considered myself an expert before I found this site
