sources for wood

I have at least one piece of driftwood in each of my pleco tanks, but would like to get more since it appears that it's the preferred hiding place for mine. I'm going to have to order it, since only one store here in town has it and I'm having a horrible time getting it to sink. Can I use wood that has been cut for use as firewood that has aged a couple of years? I took some out of the woodpile today, cleaned it, and it's boiling now. Problem is, it smells like fungus so I'm a bit leery of putting it into the tank now. What do you think? If boiled, is it ok? If not, do you have some good online places where I can purchase some? I'd prefer it sink without needed to be on a slate, that way I can position it to MY liking.

Thanks!

Christy

No advice? Anything?? Cypress, bogwood, malaysian driftwood, or just plain ol' any kind of driftwood?
