Synodontis Hybrid

Post by matt122112 »

I just purchased a synodontis labled as a longirostris at about 3-4" long for $16. I check some of the pictures it looks similiar but not exactly like a Longirosturs so I'm thinking it's a hybrid of some sort. I broke my camera so I don't have a pic. My ? is if it's a hybrid of the longirostris speices would it still grow to be larger than normal. Or do hybrids tend to stay in the 6-8 inch range. Also I never kept this type of fish before, how is their growth rate do they grow fast, slow or very slow? I am somewhat concered because I have him or her in a 120 gallon tank with a 5" rapheal cat & a baby 2" midas/red devil, with lots of pvc caves with siliconed sand on them, driftwood, and rocks for hiding spots. Ohh and this is my first post I like the site. :D

I've also purchased a few synos labelled as longirostris, but turned out to be hybrids. Mine started at 2-3 inches and soon grew to about 6 inches. They are in a 210 gallon tank with lots of other cats and don't seem to be getting much bigger.
Keep me in mind if you have unusual synodontids to sell.
