I'm doing some work comparing the early life stages of tang. catfish. Currently I am working with S. multipunctatus and dwarf petricola, but I need to expand my sample size. I am looking to spawn:

S. dhonti
S. polli
S. sp. nov.

some non-tang I am also looking for:

S. njassae
S. victoriae
S. nigromaculatus
S. zambezensis
S. ocellifer

I really have no idea about any of these species and any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

To help you better, it would be good if you fill in where you live in the Profile (top right of this page) - that way, people with knowledge of YOUR local fish market will be able to find out which species are easy to find and which are not, and maybe even give you some ideas of where to buy them.

I can say for 99% certainty that you won't find a true S. njassae, as if you find something with that label at all, you'll almost certainly find that it's a hybrid produced in the Czech republic or so.

As to the otheres, I can't really say. I believe S. polli should be achievable.

I think S. ocellifer is probably available in most places.
