brown algae in frontosa tank

Post by huk chun chu »

I have a problem with brown algae in my 90 gal. tank. When I set it up after my move is when the problem started.I never had this problem before. The tank has been up and running for 3.5 months and the tank is full of brown algae. The same happened to my 35 gal. and I put 30 oto cats in it and the brown algae was gone in no time. The problem is if I put oto's in the 90 the frontosas would thank me for the snack. So does anyone know of any other cat that does a good job of eating brown algae and will not get eaten by my fronts(they are about 5 in.and growing)? If not can anyone recommend a method of getting rid of the algae?

Common bristlenose should take care of it, and you should be able to find one that is reasonable size, I'd think.
