I am in the process of converting my 125G tank from SA to a Central American biotope. It will house cichlids commonly found in three countries mentioned in the subject line. I have searched high and low but can not find any information pertaining to trully freshwater cats from this part of the world. The only exception is the blue channel cat but they get way to big. More specifically, I am looking for something that will get to 10-18" in lenght, and be a good scavenger. Any ideas?

And by the way, what cichlids do you plan on keeping? I would definately be able to advise you on that- CA cichlids are my specialty

I have a group of 4 6" Petenia Splenditas (including a pair of confirmed breeders) already paid for and on their way from the seller 8) So, as you can see the biggest concern would be to get something that grows big enough as to not get eaten
