GG Teugels, 2003. Clarias lamottei (Siluriformes, Clariidae), a natural intergeneric hybrid from West Africa. Cybium, 27: 11-15.
A biometric study of four Clarias and two Heterobranchus species and including the type material of C. lamottei, only known by its types, showed that the latter is most probably a natural hybrid between C. gariepinus and H. isopterus. Zoogeographical evidence is given to support this.
