I was wondering how many of you have kept a Zebra shovelnose before?
Are they difficult to look after? I understand many are imported when they are small (3 inches or less), has anyone raised them to 16"+?
Any comments would be appreciated!

Hey everyone,
I have had a good look round the internet and haven't found many articles about keeping them. I just want to know a bit more info about keeping them and growing them up to adult size as I understand they are very fragile when first imported.
Cheers in advance

Andy,
Have you tried a forum search? I just did a quick one on "tigrinum" and hit 30 threads discussing the issue.

they get fairly easier as they get bigger. i had 3 so far. my largest one passed around due to some infection still unknown (had a hole on the side of the dorsal fin).
i've kept them now with so cal water, wc straight from the tap, and only feed it market shrimp. As long as extreme water chemistry fluctuations it should be fine. all mine were raised from little (before strips are shown) to the current one i have now of 14".
they are great fishes and a requirement for any showtanks...
