Hello all, i was wondering if any ones ever tryed keeping sun catfish in with malawi haps? I realize the cats could possible get large enough to eat the haps but id obviously watch it carefully. Also dont worry about what values, i dont raise ph for my africans.

if your Africans can cope with a pH about neutral (7 or so) and the fish are 6" and larger they should be fine.
Horabagrus doesn't like a very high pH, but should be fine with 7. and although it can and does eat small fish, it's not a nemurus or Batrachoglanis or something.
medium-large 'haps' should be fine.
another add is that most of those are quite placid fish; it's the Mbuna that are often notorious finpickers and nippers. larger Haps can be nasty to each other, but in general ignore fish that look very different.
wich species are we talking about? Nimbochromis, Placidochromis, Dimidiochromis, Aristochromis?

I keep all my tanks at a neutral ph and the africans are fine, seeing how most cb's are raised in water with an untreated ph it doesnt effect them. Some of the species have a max of a little less then 6" but once the cats got to a bigger size i could move them, the problem is the cats right now are rather small (2") so i need to grow them out in a tank that they wont be eaten or bullied. And yes the haps dont pay attention to anything that isint cichlid so i figured itd be ok, but i just wanted to see if any one had personal experience with it.
