15" common?

Is this a common pleco or L. anisitsi?

Yes.

The only way to tell L. anisitsi and L. pardalis apart {assuming we do consider them separate species} would be with a "belly" shot - if it's vermiculated(sp?) it would be L. anisitsi, and if it's spotted it would be L. pardalis.

Jon Armbruster considers Liposarcus, Pterygoplichthys and Glyptoperichthys all to be Pterygoplichthys, and there's a "key" to identification of described species here: http://www.auburn.edu/academic/science_ ... erygo.html
